Anne Tabachnick, Ken Kewley

Tabachnick’s largish, breezy acrylic paintings (which owe a huge debt to
Matisse’s color and loose figure drawing) are a perfect foil for Kewley’s
small, intense collages. Working with tiny shards of color-saturated paper
(sometimes inflected with searching pencil strokes), he conjures up vibrant
figures and landscapes that almost shimmy into abstraction.
